10/1 is the Day of Children. They celebrated in a hall. There's a cake of 120 meters long.

Hello all my friends,
It's been a week that I haven't seen you, how are you?
I arrived on 27th of Sep., almost a week I stay in the small town –Antigua- which is an ancient town with many historic sites. It’s about 40 minutes away from the capital Guatemala City by bus. I really enjoy stay in Antigua. Well, at this moment I do, but when I came here, the first two days I didn't like it, because there were many homeless people or beggars on the street, it really scared me. But now I can get with it. There’s one thing I still don’t like is rain. Right now is the rain season, it rains almost every day. I really hate it. I washed my clothes three days ago, and they still wet. I just came from laundry.
Well, the most important thing is to learn Spanish, that’s why I’m here. They said people of Guatemala and Ecuador speak Spanish better than other Latin-countries. I don’t have any idea of Ecuador, but in Guatemala I think it does. My one on one teacher Milian is good, so I’ll keep learning with her.
I just want to tell you that I’m fine and hope you are as well.
Give me a mail to encourage me sometimes. OK!?
Take care!
Ellen

Dear Ellen,
I’m very glad to get the message from you.
All the member of our club and English class are missing you.
Yesterday noon I and Able, Crystal get together in Ya-Weun Restaurant were just talking about your information. And Thursday night in class Joe was the first one mentioned to you. That showed you were popular in the group.
Everyone is caring you. You are a happy woman.

Our English class has only two times. So we’ll have a Potluck Dinner on Oct.16th the last one class. Hope you can smell the perfume of foods by the air at that time.

Good luck to you. And have an amazing journey.
Best Regards,
Morning

hi Ellen,
Glad to hear from you. i haven't seen you for more than a week, could be a month, and as far as where you are after i check the map on Wikipedia, it could be another month before i see you again. You could get a pretty sun tan and speak with a Spanish accent, and i could hardly recognize you.
My attention at this moment is on the place "a little bit" to the north, across Mexico, of where you are staying. It's California, where the playoffs of Major Leagues, Angels vs. Red Sox, is on. Writing this reply has cost my Angels four runs in the first inning. My heart is broken. To be on the optimistic side, it's just a beginning. There are still enough innings to make a comeback.
The only thing i know about Antigua is its coffee beans, which should make a profit for the people. According to your experience on its street, the profit just goes elsewhere, maybe to the international company like Starbucks. No wonder there are some movements of improving their economy by changing the way of doing business, without the exploit of large business organizations.
It may not be pleasant to stay there in a rain season, but it's worse to stay here. It's a storm season. Typhoons, money laundering scandal, poisoned milk incident, stock market plunge... you name it. It's fortunate to stay somewhere else simply waiting for the laundry to dry. Much healthier.
Is this some kind of encouragement to you? i hope so. It's weekend, i am happy and relaxed, and wish you the better, just say good-bye and have fun.
